GUEST ROOM PHOTOGRAPHY PREP GUIDE
A few helpful preparations before photography
We know hotel teams have a lot to do. Any help you can give with the items below gives our photography team a valuable head start. We’ll handle the final styling and adjustments on site to ensure photo readiness.
MAIN PRIORITY
Prepare one set of pillows
The pillow set is the biggest time-saver. Please prepare it in one Queen Queen room only. We’ll carry the same pillows from room to room, so there’s no need to iron or prepare pillows in every photographed room.
In most cases, eight pillows works well: four on each bed. If your usual setup is three pillows per bed, six is fine.
☐ Iron 6–8 clean, white pillowcases and place them on clean, fluffy pillows in one selected Queen Queen room.
ROOM SELECTION
Choose the best available room of each type
When you have a choice, rooms on higher floors or with trees and greenery outside the window tend to photograph especially well. Holding the rooms the day before helps us begin photography promptly.
☐ Set aside one room of each scheduled type by the day before photography, either out of service or reserved in the photographer’s name.
☐ Choose rooms with a clear view; avoid windows facing a carport, dumpster, electrical box, or lamp post immediately outside.
BEDROOM READINESS
A few details that take extra time on site
A little preparation with curtains, lighting, and furniture helps us use our time together well. Please do what you can; we’ll take care of the final camera-facing details.
☐ Steam the window curtains in each selected room.
☐ Steam the bed skirt if the bed is not on a platform frame.
☐ Check that every lamp and light fixture turns on.
☐ Replace burned-out or dim bulbs, and match the color tone of the lights.
☐ Repair or replace any broken or missing furniture in selected rooms.
BATHROOM READINESS
Prepare each bathroom type being photographed
For each selected bathroom, a few finishing touches help it feel fresh and consistent in the photographs.
☐ Steam the shower curtain in each selected bathroom type: standard tub/shower, ADA tub/shower, and ADA roll-in shower.
☐ Set out a complete set of clean, matching white towels in each bathroom type.
☐ Clean mirrors and windows to remove spots and streaks.
☐ Polish sink faucets, shower handles, and chrome to remove dust and water spots.
